Setup manually

Setup DwgTextTranslator (32-bit)
Here follows the instructions of how to install the application to your computer.  The installation may take about three minutes, depending of the speed of your system.

If you have not started AutoCAD before at all, please do it now. When you start AutoCAD for the first time, AutoCAD creates configuration files that DwgTextTranslator uses when you install it. Close AutoCAD and all other applications that may be running before installing DwgTextTranslator.

You also should log on as system administrator.

Double click on the file SETUP.EXE.

As a default, the installer suggests that you install the DwgTextTranslator's files to a directory below the AutoCAD directory, for instance C:\AutoCAD\DWGTRANS.

Don't choose as installation directory "C:/Program files/AutoDesk/AutoCAD/dwgtrans", use another directory, for instance the root directory: "c:/dwgtrans". The "C:/Program files" directory is heavily protected by the operating system, so files may be locked, and the application may become unusable.

The installer creates a desktop icon, "Cad-expert", that contains the window "AutoCAD".

From here you can start the application.

The pull-down menu.

If you do not get the pull-down menu, click on the gear-wheel in the lower right corner of the AutoCAD window, and set "AutoCAD Classic" active.

If you still did not get the DWG-translator pull down menu, do the following check:

Check that the Support File Search Path includes the \DWGTRANS-directory.
Select "Tools" from the pull-down menu and use the item "Options", and click on the "Files"-sheet. Double click on the "Support File Search Path" icon.  Add with the "Add" and "Browse"- buttons the “dwgtrans” directory, and press “Apply”.

Close AutoCAD, and restart  AutoCAD from the icon:
