If you have not started AutoCAD before at all, please do it now. When you
start AutoCAD for the first time, AutoCAD creates configuration files that
DwgTextTranslator uses when you install it. Close AutoCAD and all other
applications that may be running before installing DwgTextTranslator.
You also should log on as system administrator.
Double click on the file
As a default, the installer suggests that you install the DwgTextTranslator's
files to a directory below the AutoCAD directory, for instance C:\AutoCAD\DWGTRANS.
Don't choose as installation directory
"C:/Program files/AutoDesk/AutoCAD/dwgtrans", use another directory, for
instance the root directory: "c:/dwgtrans". The "C:/Program files" directory is
heavily protected by the operating system, so files may be locked, and the
application may become unusable.
The installer creates a desktop icon, "Cad-expert", that contains the window "AutoCAD".
From here you can start the application.
The pull-down menu.
If you do not get the pull-down menu, click on the gear-wheel in the lower
right corner of the AutoCAD window, and set "AutoCAD Classic" active.
If you still did not get the DWG-translator pull down menu,
do the following check:
Check that the Support File Search Path includes the \DWGTRANS-directory.
from the pull-down menu and use the item "Options", and click
on the "Files"-sheet. Double click on the "Support
File Search Path" icon. Add with the "Add"
and "Browse"- buttons the “dwgtrans”
directory, and press “Apply”.
Close AutoCAD, and restart AutoCAD from the icon:
